Remote yet interesting Sagada is located about 275 kilometers north of Metro Manila. The town of Sagada is accessible by bus from Baguio City, which is 100 kilometers from the town itself. The town is adjacent to Bontoc, Mountain Province's capital.

Sagada is mostly popular to visiting tourists because of its numerous caves that can be explored with the aid of local guides. Some of these caves can be explored even by amateurs. Of these caves, most popular are the ones where coffins hang on some of their respective cave walls where some contain Philippine mummies.
The ancestors of the town's citizens practiced an unusual burial tradition wherein they stacked these coffins hanging in the cliffs and gaps of the caves using knotted tree branches and trunks.

Sagada town is composed of 19 barangays located within one tributary of the Chico river higher up in the mountains. Because of its location, Sagada evokes a rustic charm and relaxing mood when one visits the place. It is not yet convoluted by technology giving it an ambiance of peaceful living.
Aside from the subterranean caves, there are many other places to go in Sagada. Other places of interest are picturesque waterfalls like Bokong and Bomodol Falls, striking limestone cliffs and Danum Lake. Trekking is a popular activity here also as there are places to go seldom touched by tourist activity.
There are many ways to get to Sagada. To experience the view of the thickly-forested mountains along the path to Sagada and feel true independence from the hustle of a busy life and be one with nature, one has the option of mountain biking over the use of automobiles to get there; although it takes about 2 days of intense, raw biking. There are daily commuter rides to and fro Sagada also.
Specific places of interest in Sagada where travellers can enjoy backpacking and sightseeing are Echo Valley, Sagada Underground River, Kilpetan Tower, and the rice terraces which are prevalent within Sagada's territory.
Accomodation is not a problem as there are many places to stay in the town itself. To name a few, A7 House and Canaway Rest House ofer good services at reasonable rates. These inns offer a relaxing feel like that of a simple yet organized home.
