Filipino Food Recipe - Binakol Express

Binakol Express Ingredients
1 tablespoon cooking oil
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon julienned ginger
2 pieces chicken broth cubes, dissolved in 4 cups water
1 cup coconut cream
1/2 cup chicken meat cubes
1/2 cup water chestnuts
1/2 cup shelled halaan
2 pieces finger chilies
salt and pepper to taste
1 fresh buko (young coconut), still in its shell with the top chopped off.
Cooking Instructions for Binakol Express
In a pan, heat oil and saute garlic and ginger, then add chicken stock, coconut cream, chicken, water, chestnuts, halaan, and finger chilies.
Season with salt and pepper, then simmer for a few minutes.
Pour into buko shell and serve immediately.
Cooking Tip: The additions of clams to the traditional binakol is truly innovative. Serving the dish in a buko shell so you can scoop it with the fesh coconut meat makes it more exciting for added texture.
