The allure of the beaches lining the shores of Cuatros Islas is comparable to the top beaches in the Philippines sans the dense number of tourists that crowd the latter.
The sense of serenity that one feels by spending time in the shores of Cuatros Islas sets it apart from the other top beaches in the country. Beautiful, white sandbars meet with crystal-clear waters to present a sight to behold. The islands are accessible from Tacloban City or Ormoc City via Baybay, in Leyte province by vans and buses plying the southern roads to the heart of Southern Leyte. It usually takes about 2-3 hours to get to the jump-off points in the towns of Hindang and Inopacan, depending on what city one sets out from.

The last leg of the trip to reach Cuatros Islas is a 30-minute boat ride. Expect that there are no hotels and resorts in the islands. You should include in your cache of travel gears some sort of a collapsible camping tenement, and utensils if you want to spend the night there.

Digyo island is the smallest of the four islands, yet it is the most visited in Cuatros Islas because of its remarkable shores. To fully enjoy your stay there, you can do snorkelling and swimming within the shallow waters around the island, or go diving/exploring the corals that speckle Digyo island's waters. Chilling out in a beach doesn't have to be expensive, one just have to go to Cuatros Islas.
