Cheap Flights to the Philippines

There are several airports in the Philippines which offer cheap flights to anywhere in the Philippines, but the country’s main airport in Manila is also the main international gateway.

Ninoy Aquino Internation Airport (airport code MNL) is about seven kilometers from the capital city and is the main hub for Philippine national flag carrier Philippine Airlines.

Unfortunately, the website for the airport is not very helpful if you are looking for basic information about the Ninoy Aquino International Airport – things like what restaurants and shops are at the airport, what all the ground transportation options are, or what airlines fly in and out of Manila.

Everyone entering the Philippines must have a passport valid for at least six months beyond the intended period of stay. If there is an embassy of country of nationality in the Philippines, then the passport can be valid for less than six months. All visitors must have return or onward tickets and documents necessary for further travel, as well as sufficient funds.

While the airport’s website does not provide this information, there are restaurants and shops throughout the Manila airport, some of both on each side of the security gates as well. The airport also has Duty Free shops, just in case you want to empty your pockets before your flight home.

With more than 7,000 islands making up the Philippines, it is almost impossible to generalize and tell you precisely what you will find when you visit. But you are pretty much guaranteed to experience loads of natural beauty, exceptional beaches, friendly locals and unique cuisine. The chaos of Manila is definitely not representative of most of the country, so get beyond the capital to see what the Philippines is all about.
